Purify & Balance

A gentle, non-foaming clay cleanser that's hydrating and almost feels like nothing yet effortlessly removes makeup, daily grime and impurities. Active botanical ingredients help clarify and decongest the skin leaving it feeling fresh, clean and balanced. ÉTYMOLOGIE Active Clay Cleanser  is full of Natural alpha-hydroxy-acids (AHA) from Caviar Lime, Hibiscus and Pomegranate work together with papaya enzymes to exfoliate, brighten, and help keep breakouts at bay. North American red clay draws out excess oil and impurities. The skin is left feeling fresh, clean and balanced and ready for the rest of your routine. Suitable for all skin types, especially dull and congested.

Benefits:

Sustainable surfactants from coconut oil and natural sugars gently cleanse the skin without causing dryness or irritation. Red clay helps absorb excess oil, while willow bark, hibiscus and caviar lime extracts work together to decongest the skin and minimize the look of pores. Leaves your skin feeling fresh and balanced.

Sustainable Science:

  • Red Clay: Mineral-rich red clay absorbs excess oil and impurities in the skin, tightening and clearing pores.

  • Moringa Oil: Certified organic and rich in omega-9 fatty acids, this oil helps dissolve oil-based impurities and gives the cleanser a luxurious texture.

  • Coco Glucoside + Decyl Glucoside: These sustainable surfactants from coconut oil and natural sugars gently cleanse the skin without causing dryness or irritation. EcoCert approved, and palm oil free.

How to Use:

AM: Massage 1-2 pumps into dry skin on face and neck - we like to use 5-6 pumps but experiment with the amount that best suits your skin. Rinse muslin cloth in warm water and wring out excess water before gently removing the cleanser. Finish with a splash of water.

PM: Double cleanse the skin (with the same steps from AM): Once to remove makeup and dirt build-up from day and a second time to fully cleanse the skin.

Étymologie's Passion for Creating Sustainable Beauty

GLASS NOT PLASTIC

While many beauty products are contained in non-biodegradable plastic which often ends up polluting our rivers and oceans and damaging biodiversity, Étymologie opt to use Miron violet glass. Its infinite recyclability moves us towards zero waste, and it also serves to preserve the quality of our products.

CARBON NEUTRAL BOXES

Packaging is not just a minor detail to Étymologie, but an opportunity to bring you products that are truly sustainable. The boxes used in their skincare packaging are printed on recycled materials in Canada, and we go one step further to reduce our environmental footprint by purchasing carbon credits in order to make our boxes completely carbon neutral.

ORGANIC BOTANICALS

The pure plant oils and extracts that are used in Étymologie formulas are Ecocert certified organic farms that adhere to the strictest sustainability standards. This means they don’t use environmentally damaging or potentially harmful pesticides and fertilisers, resulting in the protection of local biodiversity and final skincare products that are safer for you to use.

GREEN CHEMISTRY

Étymologie skincare products are made using green chemistry wherever and whenever possible. What does it mean for chemistry to be green? It indicates practices that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture, and application of chemical products, and it includes the use of sustainable resources and alternatives.
